Re-Do Of Twist Out

So I was unhappy with the results of the twist out on the diva, so I banded her hair in 8 ponytails to stretch her hair some
I just added Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter to achieve this style
After a couple of hours I took the banded style out and did 3 strand twists

I left these in for about 3 hours and took them to get this look:

I like these results much better!
Here is a comparative picture:
Stretched 3 Strand Twist Out
Unstretched 2 strand twist out

Stretching sure made a huge difference.

Enjoy!

Twist out on the Diva

Hello Ladies!

Here is my first attempt of a twist out on the diva on wet hair, I have done it before on dry and it came out pretty good.

I started with washing and conditioning her hair as normal, then I applied Giovanni Direct Leave In Conditioner and a little Lock and Twist Gel to each twist, I ended up with about 25 twists.

Then she put her satin bonnet on for sleep time :)
Then the next day I applied a little African Royale Hot six Oil to each twist before I undid them

ignore that huge part :)

I also did an unofficial length check
Almost APL I can't tell if it has grown from the last length check.

I didn't really care for the results, but the diva loved it, I think I am going to band her hair and stretch it for a few hours then re-twist and then take them out in a few hours to see how that looks. Stay Tuned!

Day 7: 30 Day Challenge

Day 7: Five Pet Peeves

1. Complaining, I absolutely can not stand being around someone who complains

2. Extreme or excessive PDA so annoying and unnecessary, get a room!

3. Tailgaters, I HATE when people tailgate me, go around!

4. When people interrupt someone who is talking. Just hold on a second and your chance to talk will roll around, so rude!

5. Woe is me people, or otherwise known as attention seekers. I have no time for pity parties, put your big girl panties on and deal with it, come up with a plan or a solution.

Nail Design

So I wanted to try something new on my nails and I came up with this design. I really need to work at handling that brush because this is pretty all I can do with it for now :)

I used 2 coats of the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Rockstar Pink and used LA Colors Art Deco in Black and Silver for the design.

Enjoy!

Day 6: Your views on Mainstream Music

Well I think 90% of it is wack and 10% is good. I pretty much listen to R&B mainly and some rap. I just have artist that I like and stick too and listen to their music, my all time favorite is Jay-Z I have loved him since 1996 when he dropped Reasonable Doubt. I also love old school R&B like The Temptations, Earth, Wind & Fire, etc.

Product Review: Givoanni Direct Leave In Conditioner

I had read many reviews raving about this leave in conditioner and since I was in need of a creamy leave in conditioner I decided to give it a try. I purchased my 8.5oz bottle on amazon.com for $7.00 and some change.

Their claim:

Weightless leave-in conditioner
Nourishes, moisturizes and builds body
With Giovanni PureOrganic Technology

To create condition and style, you need to go to the source. Giovanni Direct Leave-In Weightless Moisture Conditioner penetrates into each individual hair to provide exactly what's needed, every time. This leave-in treatment uses enriched proteins to repair hair as you go through the day. It also plumps hair so it feels thicker, more bodified and styled - weightlessly. By infusing each strand with proteins, hair goes directly to style. Detangles for easy combing and styling. With Giovanni PureOrganic Technology blend, an advanced essential oil complex.

100% vegetarian/vegan ingredients. No Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate. No phthalates. This product is not tested on animals.

Ingredients: Aqua (Purified Water), **Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, *Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, *Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract, *Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract, *Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract, *Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Leaf Extract, *Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, *Tussilago Farfara (Coltsfoot) Flower Extract, *Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract, *Equisetum Arvense Extract, *Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Cetyl Alcohol (plant derived), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Citric Acid (corn), Phenoxyethanol, Grapefruit Seed (citrus derived), Natural Fragrance.

Color: White
Consistency: Thick and creamy

My thoughts:
I LOVE this product! It is super thick and moisturizing I may have been a little too heavy handed with it but I applied it directly to wet hair. Right after I showered and washed & conditioned my hair I applied a generous amount throughout my hair. Then I sectioned my hair off put the top half up in a ponytail and left the back hanging down. I ran through my hair with my conair (deneman) like brush and then sealed with a little African Royale Hot Six Oil.

Here are pics of my hair wet with the product in:

Here is my hair after it dried completely:

Great results and I was able to wear this same style today! yay! Last night I just put the ponytail in a loose twist then I sectioned the back hair into two loose twist and put my bonnet on. This morning I undid the twists and then fluffed and walked out the door!

Have you used this product?
What were your results?

Enjoy!

Shoes for Summer

What woman doesn't have a little shoe fetish? I know I do, I just can't help myself to a great COMFORTABLE pair of shoes. Notice I put comfortable in caps :) Considering that I am the queen of cheap I also have to balance out my cheapness with comfort and quality, just because I am cheap doesn't mean I settle on cheaply made shoes, that would just be plain crazy!

Let's take a look into my closet and see what shoes I am rockin' this summer:

Hot Pink Wedges
I picked these lovelies up at a shoe store inside of the Primm Valley mall at the state line of Nevada on my way to Vegas. Price: $29.99

Roxy Boat Shoes
Purchased these at Macy's for $39.99 they are SOOOO comfortable, they have like an extra layer of cushion that feels lovely to walk on. They go great with skinny jeans or shorts :)

Roxy Sandals
Purchased at Macy's
Price: $29.99

Product Review: Ultra Swim

I was on the hunt for a good cheleating shampoo, of course I didn't find one. I say of course because why would it be so easy?

So I did find this
Ultra Swim Chlorine Removal Shampoo Moisturizing Formula
The Claim: Removes chlorine with just one wash.
Consistency: Normal, like a liquid soap, not thick or creamy but not running either
Color: Clear
Price: $5.99
Purchased at: CVS

Ingredients: water, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium laroamphoacetate, urea, polysorbate 20, coco glucoside, sodium thiosulfate, glyceryl oleate, propylene glycol, diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben, sodium bicarbonate, tocopheryl acetate, glycerin, disodium edta, polyquaternium-10, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, fragrance, d&c violet no 2, may contain citric acid and/or sodium hydroxide.

Not the best ingredients in the world but I have used this many of times now on the diva and have had no problems with it at all. I like that it didn't dry her out or leave it feeling stripped or brittle. I always deep conditioned her hair after using this shampoo to ensure her hair maintains its much needed moisture so that may be why as well.

Enjoy!

Boy Curls

Hello Ladies!
Just wanted to give a quick update on JJ's curls.

Here are the updated pics:

fakest smile ever!
Doesn't look like much progress from the first pic huh?

Last Pic:
1st pic
That's because we have cut his hair twice since then! JJ likes his curls low and so we take him to the barber and get his hair trimmed and he gets a line up and the sides tapered.

His hair is so easy to do:
  • After he washes and conditions it I spray my homemade leave in conditioner mix in
  • Apply a quarter size amount of Carol's Daughter's Hair Milk
  • Apply a general amount of Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel
That's all folks!
Enjoy!
