Criss-Cross & Braids

I was bored and the diva needed her hair done so this thought popped into my head. I did 3 cornrow and 4 criss-crosses, then wrapped them around the big ponytail in the back. and added braids to the ponytail, later this week I will take the braids down in the ponytail and she will wear a braid out. What do you think?

Enjoy!

It appears my ponytail may be off center, ah well!

Mohawk

Well our version anyway :) This is the end result of our transitional style I posted earlier this week. The diva has to have a wild and crazy hairstyle for her hip hop dance show so I thought of this and added a little snookie poof in the front.

Enjoy!

3 out of 3 hair bows ~ Fold & Sew

And last but certainly not least here is the diva's hair bow. I used teal instead of silver and red and I simply folded the ribbons how I wanted it to look and sewed it in place. What do you think?

Enjoy!

2 out of 3 hairbows

Here is the second hair bow I made for the diva's little dancer friend. I posted a picture of the first hair bow a couple of days ago. This one is similar to the first.

Enjoy!

Hair Bow

The diva has a dance concert this weekend and the colors are black and white, so I made her and her two little friends matching hair bows, although I made each one a little different, I add silver ribbon and a red sparkle to the middle. I hot glued it to an alligator clip. What do you think?

Enjoy!

Cornrows into a Braid

This is a style that I call a transitional style because by the end of this week will turn into another style :) I don't want to give it away just yet, I'll keep you in suspense until the reveal. For this style I started with washed and moisturized hair and then part it down the middle and made six cornrows on each side and then connected them into braids going down the middle of the head. What do you think? A quick and easy style that will last all week I all have to do is change out the hair accessories to match her outfits all week.

Enjoy!

Hair Dilemma

I am having one! I am trying to figure out what works best on my hair as far as products and a routine goes. So far the products that I have been using seem to be okay as far as the creams and moisturizers go but the shampoo and conditioner I am not sure on, I just started with a new brand so I figure I will try that out for awhile. I seem to always have a dry and itchy scalp, I think maybe I need to try some sort of oil on my scalp but not sure what to use. I also don't know how often is too often to wash my hair which is naturally curly and wavy. It feels like I need to do so every two or three days, is that too much? I have no clue! I use a satin bonnet at night on certain styles I don't apply that much heat I don't straighten my hair that often, I like it natural but I can't figure out how to wear it out naturally without it turning into a frizz ball. My hair dries fast like out of the shower within a matter of 20 or min it is half way dry, I may be exaggerating a little but if dries fast and will frizz in certain spots and then be wavy in other spots while being curly in other spots.

I have a couple of pics on here in previous posts you can check them out if you want to visual on my hair type, and any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

In other news the diva's routine is perfect and her hair is responding nicely to the same products I use on my hair. Her hair has really grown and is looking healthy.

Grown Up Hairstyle

I thought from time to time I would add my own styles on here, I figure why not? :) This is my first attempt at a Bantu Knot Out hair do. I started with washing my hair then while still wet I parted and sectioned my hair into 17 sections then twisted each section and secured it with a rubber band.

My first attempt I didn't let my hair dry long enough before I took the knots out and this is how it turned out.

I added two cornrows to the front
For my second attempt my hair was barely damp and the curls came out much tighter than my first attempt.

I used Proclaim Glossing Olive Oil and a little of Hair Milk by Carol's Daughter before I made the knots.

Headband

I made this headband using the pattern I found on http://www.creativeyarn.blogspot.com/ , although I altered it a great deal to fit my needs I love it! I added a little sparkle to the middle as well. The diva wanted to wear her hair down for her birthday so I thought what a perfect time to wear the headband as well.

Enjoy!

Crocheted Hair Tie

I found the pattern for this online, sorry I can't remember what site. I altered the original pattern a little and came up with this. What do you think? I used Simply Caron in pink yarn and a size H hook. I crocheted it over a regular black ouch less hair tie.

Enjoy!
