Hey Guys! Jalen recently decided to grow his hair again and have his curls, at first I thought oh cool, I love his curls! Then I though man now he is going to be using up my hair products again lol. But luck must have been on my side because shortly after I was contacted by Blended Beauty to do a review of two of their products. Stacey is so wonderful to work with she picked up two awesome products that I love. If you'll recall I did a review on two other products from Blended Beauty that worked great! This time around I was sent Curly Frizz Pudding   From the website: A soft hold moisturizing gel lotion that defines and conditions curls, while nourishing the scalp and hair. Preemie/RSV Awareness: Be Informed #protectpreemies #rsv

RSV Infographic

With Preemie Awareness Day this month (Nov. 17th) I wanted to take a minute and share my experience with premature births. Before my godson Jeremiah (who also happens to be my little cousin :) was born I didn't know much of anything about preemies. I was fortunate enough to give birth to two full term healthy babies. My cousin wasn't so lucky, she became pregnant with twin boys: Jeremiah and Joshua. She gave birth prematurely while she was in her sixth month of pregnancy on July 4, 2009. Joshua lived for 6 days before passing away and Jeremiah stayed in the NICU for 5 months.  From birth to age 5 months Jeremiah has had a total of 4 surgeries: PDA surgery to close the open heart valve ROP Lasik surgery to stop bleeding in the back of the eye cells Gastroschisis surgery to remove a blockage from undeveloped intestines.  This same surgery was done 3 months later to attach the intestinal track back together. Along with these surgeries, he's had a host of … [Read more...]

Hey Guys! Have you ever had a place that you remember so fondly? That brought you such joy and excitement? That is still around today and when you drive by you smile because you are flooded with happy memories? I do and that place is Castle Park , I remember going as a kid with my parents for a fun filled day on the weekend. Then as a teen I remember being dropped off by my parents and meeting my friends to play in the arcade and/or a round of miniature  golf. Well that was well over 15-20 years ago and guess what, Castle Park still stands in it's same spot. Although now it's much cooler, more rides and attractions were added over the years, all while still preserving the original rides I remember and love. Castle Park offers over 25 rides for all ages and height :) Perfect place for teens and/or little ones as they have an awesome kiddie section. Here are the kids standing near the map of the park, where you can plan out your day. They even had a magic … [Read more...]

Etniq Minerals Cosmetics: Review

etniq

Hey Guys! Many moons ago when I first became interested in make up I went to the mall and found a store that sold only one specific kind of make up, mineral makeup. I didn't know much about it but it looked awesome and the salesman had me hook, line and sinker and I walked out $60 lighter with a box set. I thought I was all set and was thrilled and then I noticed after a few times of wearing the makeup set my face started to itch constantly and all over :(  I realized it was the makeup and had to stop using, so my $60 went down the drain.  After that I steered clear of any and all make up that mentioned mineral. That is until I met Leah the CEO and founder of Etniq Minerals, I explained my past experience with mineral makeup and told me that I was probably allergic to bismuth oxychloride which was an ingredient found in the mineral make up I used before. She stated that this in an unnecessary filler that was used in that brand of make up but that she doesn't use it in … [Read more...]

Homemade Werewolf Halloween Costume For Kids

werewolf

Hey Guys! I hope you and your kiddos had a fab Halloween. This year Jalen wanted to be a Werewolf so I began brainstorming and came up with the following: I used the following materials: 1/2 yard of fur fabric (joann's on sale $3.49) a ski mask ($6.99 at Big 5) pair of brown gloves $2.99 at Big 5) The white sheet is something that is kinda hard and sold near the fabric not quite sure the name of it or how much I bought but it did cost $1.36 at Joann's I used the white sheet to make the ears, I just freehand drew two ears and cut out 2 pieces of the white sheet for each ear. Then I hot glued them together. Next I traced the same ear shape onto a piece of the fur and again cut out two pieces per ear so a total of four. I then hot glued both sides of fur to each side of the white pieces Next I added a small piece of beige colored felt paper I had in my stash to make it look like the inside of the ear Finished ear :) Pretty cool huh? These would … [Read more...]
