Hey Guys!
I am back with another DIY project. This project is a DIY bed canopy for Jordyn’s bed, part of her room makeover. I searched the internet for bed canopies and found some on amazon for $15-$30. There was no way I was going to pay that much for a piece of thin sheer material. I knew I could make it for much cheaper. So I set out to the stores to gather up all my materials.
To get started you will need the following:
1 pair of sheer curtains ($3.49 Ikea)
Quilting Hoop ($2.49 Wal Mart)
White grosgrain ribbon ($0.99 Wal Mart)
Scissors (had on hand)
Lighter (had on hand)
Ceiling hook ($1.49 Wal Mart)
Total Cost: $6.97
First I started out by slipping both sheer curtain panels onto my quilting hoop. I bought my curtains from Ikea and they were on sale for $3.49.

Next I took a long piece of my white ribbon and tied knots on each end of the hoop to secure the ribbon in place. Then I cut small holes in each sheer curtain panel and then took another piece of ribbon and threaded it through and secured the opposite ends of the hoop with knots.

Your ribbon should look like a plus sign

Next I used my lighter and burned the ribbon ends so they wouldn’t fray. I then tied them into knots. I screwed my ceiling hook into the ceiling and hung my two tied ribbon ends on it.

Lay out your canopy across your bed and your done! Easy peasy.

A super inexpensive way to dress up your bed for a fraction of the cost if you would have bought a bed canopy.
