Roller Set on Natural 4a Hair

SAM_4028

Hey Guys! I wanted to try something new on Jordyn's hair so I made a quick run to my local indoor swap-meet and purchased some large magnetic rollers so I could try out a roller set on her :) I first started by washing and conditioning her hair using Miss Jessie's Super Slip Sudsy Shampoo   Next I used Aussie Moist Conditioner   For my styling aides I used Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream   and good old fashion hair grease to seal the ends and lock in the moisture.   She sat under the hooded dryer for about an hour and 15 min and then once her hair was dry I took the rollers out and pin curled the curls for bed.   I put her satin bonnet on for bedtime and the next morning I took the pin curls down, fluffed her hair out and separated the curls. I also added two flat twists on each side of her head and in the middle I tried to do an inward french braid, it doesn't look so great up close … [Read more...]

Flu Prevention Tips for Parents Infographic

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for MedImmune Specialty Care. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.   The cold and flu season is upon us folks, are you ready for it? If you are a parent like me I am sure you might be a little worried about your kiddos with all the germs the little ones can encounter at school and/or daycare. Elizabeth Pantley has a great ebooklet called, “A Parent's Guide to Flu Season". Elizabeth shares some great information on the flu virus, like did you know that the flu germs can live on surfaces for up to eight hours?!? Also virus particles found in coughs or sneezes can reach up to six feet away! I didn't know that it could reach that far but I am always mindful of reminding my kids to cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze. The flu isn't just a bad cold it's a much more serious illness than some people think. It's a highly contagious viral infection that can potentially lead … [Read more...]

You'll need the following supplies:   A foam board (Joann's under $5 it was marked 40% off because the other side was damaged. I think paid about $3.49 for it) one square tray (came in a pack of 3 from the Dollar Tree for $1) one rectangular tray (came in a pack of 3 from the Dollar Tree for $1) 4 salt and pepper shakers (pack of two for $1 at the Dollar Tree) 4 packs of pearl appliques (Joann's$1 a pack) one white sparkly felt sheet (Joann's $0.99) 4 black felt sheets (Joann's 4 for $1) 5 sheets of scrapbook paper (Sparkly sky blue) (Joann's $1.99 each) White ribbon (not pictured I had it in … [Read more...]
